Base Converter allows you to easily and quickly convert 32-bit numeric values between decimal, hexadecimal, binary, and octal. It's display is handy for programmers as it breaks the 32-bit value into it's individual words and bytes. There are 13 fields representing the same 32-bit value. Edit any field and the other fields will update in real-time.

The following describes Base Converter's layout.

  1. This displays the current sign state of decimal values. Tap to toggle decimal values between signed and unsigned. This only effects decimal values (items 2 through 8). The sign state does not determine when you can enter negative values. It only determines how decimal values are displayed when updated. You can enter negative values in the decimal fields at anytime.
  2. The 32-bit value displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will effect all 32 bits.
  3. The most significant 16 bits (bits 17 to 32) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect the most significant 16 bits (bits 17 to 32).
  4. The least significant 16 bits (bits 1 to 16) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect the least significant 16 bits (bits 1 to 16).
  5. The most significant 8 bits (bits 25 to 32) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect the most significant 8 bits (bits 25 to 32).
  6. The least significant 8 bits of the most significant 16 bits (bits 17 to 24) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect bits 17 to 24.
  7. The most significant 8 bits of the least significant 16 bits (bits 9 to 16) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect bits 9 to 16.
  8. The least significant 8 bits (bits 1 to 8) displayed in decimal. This field only accepts decimal values. The values you enter here will only effect the least significant 8 bits (bits 1 to 8).
  9. The most significant 8 bits (bits 25 to 32) displayed in binary. Tap the 1's and 0's to toggle them. The values you set here will only effect the most significant 8 bits (bits 25 to 32).
  10. The least significant 8 bits of the most significant 16 bits (bits 17 to 24) displayed in binary. Tap the 1's and 0's to toggle them. The values you set here will only effect bits 17 to 24.
  11. The most significant 8 bits of the least significant 16 bits (bits 9 to 16) displayed in binary. Tap the 1's and 0's to toggle them. The values you set here will only effect bits 9 to 16.
  12. The least significant 8 bits (bits 1 to 8) displayed in binary. Tap the 1's and 0's to toggle them. The values you set here will only effect the least significant 8 bits (bits 1 to 8).
  13. The 32-bit value displayed in hexadecimal. This field only accepts hexadecimal values. The values you enter here will effect all 32 bits.
  14. The 32-bit value displayed in octal. This field only accepts octal values. The values you enter here will effect all 32 bits.
  15. Tap this button to set all 32 bits to zero.
